Running.......
Ah, what to say about running. I used to HATE running and never found a benefit to it at all. But it became a hobby of mine about 2 years ago. I think I enjoy the challenge that it gives me and I enjoy seeing my progress.
A few weeks ago I was going to run the Color Run 5K in Salt Lake with my friend. We were supposed to be leaving around 7:15 am to get to Salt Lake in time. She text me around 4:30am saying she wasn't able to run with me. So I begged Kurt to go with me. He was hesitant, but knew that it would mean a lot to me if he would go. Awww! He's the best husband! This was his first organized run that he's ever done and he had so much fun. He hasn't stopped talking about it since. Now I think he'll do more with me. It was a lot of fun! We were covered with this powder chalk that they throw at you while you're running.

The following weekend I ran the Dirty Dash with some of Kurt's cousins and their friends. What can be better than running? Running in the mud!!!
                                Clean?......not for long!

St. George girls trip
While Kurt was hunting, I took a girls trip with my mom, sisters and one niece to St George to see the shows at Tuacahn. Hairspray is one of my favorite movies so when I heard it was playing at Tuacahn I knew I had to go. My sister and I have the same birthday so it's fun to celebrate with her every year. This was our birthday girls weekend.
My sister and I that share a birthday. Many people say we look a lot alike. Love her!

"Camping" in the Uinta's
Our friends have a cabin in the Uinta's so we took a weekend trip to spend time with friends. Kurt took advantage of being in the mountains to go hunting. He later met up with all of us at Mirror Lake for a little bit of fishing. Isn't he cute in his camo?
Me and my cousin Ashley. We are only 4 days apart and grew up just around the corner from one another. We've always been inseperable and she is one of my best friends.
Mirror Lake is so beautiful and the weather is perfect this time of year.

We have had a really fun summer. Family vacations, hanging out with friends, BBQ's, roasting marshmallows. I'm not ready for it to end, but I guess the saying goes "All good things must come to an end". Here are some pictures from our recent adventures.
My sister and I ran a 5K called the FoamFest. There were mud pits, river crossing, bounce houses with water and foam (soapy suds). It was a blast! My shirt was very white when we started, but it didn't end up staying white :)
FOAM! It did not feel so good in the eyes!
Did I mention that there was mud? :)
Fun times!

Unfortunately Kurt's grandma passed away a few weeks ago...but we were able to see all of his brothers and sisters (doesn't happen too often since his 2 sisters live out of state).
With Kurt's dad, stepmom, his 2 brothers, sister in law and 2 sisters.
Just the siblings!

Another family reunion (extended family)

This is called a "redneck waterslide". What a fun day we had!

Me and my sister in law
Kurt, 2 cousins and my brother
Jodi's family reunion. We had a lot of fun playing games, hiking and laughing! We also found out my sister (which I am very close with) is pregnant with her first child. So excited for them!
Kurt came a day after we all got there because he was working. He showed up just in time for dinner. 8 out of the 13 neices and nephews went outside to eat dinner with Kurt on the deck

We hiked 4 miles into this beautiful waterfall. It was a fun family activity that we all did together.

Kurt and I hiked up higher to the waterfall. I am pretty scared of heights, but Kurt encouraged me to be brave! I was still a bit scared.
Ayla is making Kurt's hair pretty! :)

June has been very eventful! Since I (Jodi) work for a school district I don't work in the Summer. It is great! It gives me a lot of time to finish projects that I neglect when I'm working!

A few weeks ago Kurt had surgery to remove his gall bladder. He was having some stomach pains and after test results, we found his gall bladder was not working at full capacity. This was his first major surgery....he was pretty nervous. And since I'm very much like my dad-I always have a camera with me to document all these fun times in our lives-here are some pictures!

*I thought it was funny that they made him wear these funny socks!

*Doesn't he look so excited? This was right before they wheeled him into the OR.

He did really well and has recovered wonderfully!

This past weekend we went on a trip with 4 of our really good friends. It was a blast! These are my 4 best friends from high school and now all the husbands are good friends! I love it.
We played games, laughed, ate, went to the lake and had a ton of fun.

*Hanging out on the deck every night with some beautiful weather!
*The lake....this was my favorite day!
*Me and cute Mady (my cousins' daughter)
*Me, Cami, Lynsey and Ashley. This picture was taken by Lynsey's 3 year old daughter Summer so its a bit blurry.
*Also taken by a 3 year old. But I LOVE the picture. The boys took us clay pigeon shooting. What a fun trip!

This past weekend 3 of my best girlfriends and I took a mini getaway to Park City. What would I do without my girls? I don't think boys will ever understand how much we cherish our girlfriends. These are the girls that I have been best friends with since high school 10 years ago. Although we are all "grown up" now and most of us have children...we still manage to get together often for dinner and even manage entire weekends together. Staying up late, eating junk food, giggling and shopping. Is there anything better than that?
LOVE these girls!

Mother's Day!!!!

Although Mother's Day is kind of a rough day for me, I try to reflect on the fact that I have 3 wonderful mother figures to celebrate all the wonderful things that they do for us. Some day I will have my opportunity to celebrate being a mother.
This year we had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Because Kurt's mom lives in Southern Utah, we don't always get to spend holidays with her; especially Mother's Day. This year they came to visit and it happened to be on this special weekend. We had a wonderful time. We took them on the Frontrunner train to Salt Lake to see the new beautiful City Creek shopping center, walked through Temple Square and ate many yummy meals. It was really great weekend.

City Creek shopping center is so pretty! The guy who was taking the picture made me laugh so I had a funny look on my face, but other than that I really like this picture.

Horse rides

The neighborhood kids LOVE when they see Kurt out riding Woodrow on the streets. They get so excited and can't believe that there is a "real cowboy" that lives by them. When we got a phone call from one of our neighbors asking if their daughter could ride Woodrow, we agreed. Her mom told her that being able to ride Woodrow was part of her birthday present. She had just turned 8. When she came over to our house, she was beyond excited! It was a lot of fun to see how excited she was. Her mom took some great pictures of the adventure. Kurt made her day! It was so cute.

Disneyland trip

Yes, we love Disneyland! People think that we're funny to go to Disneyland without children, but we have such a good time. This last trip we went with some very good friends of ours (they have 3 kids so it was fun watching those girls get so excited over the Princesses). Kurt and our friend Brittany both turned 30 within a week or so of each other so we celebrated in California. It was such a fun trip! I made t-shirts for Kurt and Brittany to wear so they would get a lot of attention...it was so fun! We also went to the beach, Universal Studios and Sea World. It was such a great trip....and fun to go with friends!

One of our favorite rides-Tower of Terror! So fun.

Birthday dinner

Birthday dinner
Kurt's favorite ride at Disneyland is Pirates of the Caribbean so we decided to splurge and eat at the restaurant Blue Bayou that is inside the ride. It was very tasty! And our waiter brough him a birthday dessert. What a great way to turn 30!

Jodi's favorite Disneyland food....their pickles! YUMMMMMM!
